Corita Carlson, 102, of rural Lacon died at 8:25 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry, IL.
She was born Sept. 3, 1903, in Hopewell Twp., rural Lacon, to the late Edgar V. and Cora S. Fisher Lane. She married Ray T. Carlson on Dec. 21, 1922, in Lacon; he preceded her on May 1, 1982.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Chuck (Jean) Cory of Lacon, Mrs. Virgil (Mary) Schlosser of Henry and Mrs. Jean (Carol) Smith of Henry; 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren; and 52 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by two sons, Jack and Charles Carlson; and two daughters, Ramona Ivey and Sandra Holler; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.
She farmed with her husband in Hopewell Twp. for over 60 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Varna and the Hopewell Home Bureau.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Lenz Memorial Home, Lacon, with Rev. Ken Harris officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, also at Lenz Memorial Home.
Intermnet will be in Lacon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to L-S 52 and/or donor's choice.
