Paul Steenrod, 101, die November 10, 2011 in Roanoke, Illinois.

He was born October 17, 1910 in Hinton, Kentucky, the son Charles and Nora (Switzer) Steenrod. He married Dorothy Quinn on May 26, 1934, in Henry, Ill. She passed away Oct. 17, 1996.

Surviving are his children, Sheila (Russ) Aikin and Charles (Barb) Steenrod; grandchildren, Ken Steenrod, Deb (Mel) Nielsen, Kim (Scott) Edwards, Kevin (Teresa) Roeschley and Kerri Roeschley; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Paul also is survived by one sister, Ruth Steenrod.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Paul was a railroad yardmaster, working for the Rock Island Railroad for 48 years. He was a charter board member for Youth for Christ in Peoria, where he was the first recipient of the Faithful Servant Award, a former board member of Peoria Rescue Mission, and an active participant in numerous Christian organizations.

Burial will be in Henry Cemetery in Henry, Illinois.
