Murriel Holdaway, 82, of Amarillo died Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Sheldon DeVries of Cross Pointe Church and Dr. Charles Jones of Hollywood Road Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Mrs. Holdaway was born Jan. 14, 1930, in Granite, Okla. She married Haskell Holdaway on Sept. 26, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Holdaway was a "Nanny" to everyone and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two sons, David Holdaway and wife LeeAnne of Long Beach, Calif., and Mike Holdaway of Amarillo; a daughter, Debi Moore and husband Ronnie of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Haylee DeVries and husband Sheldon, Jamie Price and husband Dwayne and Cortney Holdaway, all of Amarillo; two stepgranddaughters, Jennifer and Susan; four great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Caleb, Ella and Parker; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the critical care unit at Baptist St. Anthony's
Hospital.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.

The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
