Mrs. Alva Walters Fraser, 68, a resident of the Knob Creek road and wife of Raymond C. Fraser, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fraser were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunda afternoon at Knob Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Hunter, minister of the Knob Creek Baptist Church, and the Rev. Howard Jones Former minister of the Knob Creek baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Knob Creek Cemetery.

The body was at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home prior to services.

A native of the Theta community, she was the daughter of the late John Randolph Walters. She was a former member of the Athendale Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of the Knob Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband include one daughter, Mrs. William P. (Jane) Wallace of Lewisburg; one son, James Ray Fraser of Columbia; two brothers, Abb H. Walters of Columbia, and A.C. (Sam) Walters of Akron, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Melanie Wallace and Paul Wallace, both of Lewisburg.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Walters, Donny Walters, Gordon Ammons, Doyle Sullivan, Andrew Quirk, J.D. Stanfill, Harold Warf and Jack Willis.
