Allen Fraser, 56, died apparently of a heart attack Tuesday night at his hotel room in Erwin, Tenn., where he was employed as a county property appraiser for Toben Research.

The body will arrive at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home Thursday and services are tentatively set for 3 p.m. Friday.

A native of Maury County, he was the son of Mrs. Pearl Allen Fraser of Columbia and the late Humphrey Fraser. He attended Central High School and worked for Tennessee Knitting Mills for several years.

He served in the Navy during World War II and after receiving his discharge, worked as a training officer for the State Veterans Administration. He was in the the real estate business in Columbia for many years and was director of the Columbia Housing Authority, resigning in 1966.

He was a thirty-second degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, past exalted ruler of the Columbia Elks Lodge, was a member of Herbert Griffin Post 19 American Legion, and the Riverside Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Cook Fraser; a son, Don Fraser, Columbia; a sister, Mrs. J. Mike Blair, Columbia; two brothers, Herbert Fraser, Denver, Colo.; and M.E. Fraser, Columia and several nieces and nephews.
