SSgt US Army Air Forces 14th Squadron 61st Troop Carrier Group. Killed in action on D-Day when his plane was shot down. He was an air crew member and his plane was delivering paratroopers to the combat zone. He has a memorial marker only at Fort McPherson, since his remains were never recovered. He is also listed in the Tablets of the Missing at the Normandy American Cemetery in France. SSgt Orlo A. Montgomery His awards included the Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters and the Purple Heart.
