Sp4 Robert V. Nowak died of wounds received during combat with enemy ground forces in Vietnam while serving with Co A 1st Bn 12th Cav 1st Cav Div. He was promoted to Sgt posthumously. Sgt Nowak is honored on Panel 40E Row 11 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.
