Promoted to brevet captain (Cedar Creek, VA) on October 19, 1864. Promoted to captain in
the 5th U. S. Cavalry on July 28, 1866.
Died of self-inflicted gunshot wound on June 12, 1869 at Fort McPherson, Nebraska as attested by Assistant Surgeon A. D. Wilson, USA.
