Irwin "deceased" of Captain Samuel McConihe's Company "H" of the 14th Regiment of Infantry, born in Delaware Co. in the state of Ohio aged (at enlistment) 34 years, 5 feet 6inches high, dark complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, and by occupation a Soldier, was enlisted by Lt. McCammon at Fort Douglas, U.T. on the 29th day of March, eighteen hundred and Eighty-one to serve for Five years, who is now entitled to a discharge by reason of Death. Died Oct. 30, 1883 of Remittent Fever at Cantonment on Uncompahgre, Colo.
