George Edward Jenkins was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 23, 1933, and passed away in his home on March 5, 2013.
Survived by his wife of 57 years, Oleta Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Mike Salmon; grandson, Jeremy Salmon; sister, Hazel Beaird of Drumright, Oklahoma; brothers, Don Jenkins and wife Kathy of Gorman, Texas, and Tommy Jenkins and wife Sue of Rowlett, Texas; brother-in-law, Stanley Swindell of Sulphur Springs, Texas and sister-in-law Lois Jenkins of Carrollton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Oscar Jenkins; mother, Mary Beth Jenkins Ewing; brother H.L. (Bob) Jenkins; and sister, Edna Rule.
George owned and operated Jenkins Carpet Company and Jenkins Public Adjusting and Remodeling Company in Cockrell Hill for many years. He was a proud member of Cockrell Hill Baptist Church for 38 years.
