Andrew M. Scherffius, Sr., age 73, an automobile salesman, died Monday afternoon at his home, 130 Fifth Street, East Pensacola Heights.
Mr. Scherffius was a native of Houston, Tex, but had resided in Pensacola for the last 50 years. Surviving are seven daughters, Miss Frances Emily Scherffius, Miss Patricia Ann Scherffius, Mrs. Lucille Blasingame, Mrs. Louise Hallmark, and Mrs. Joyce Kyser, all of Pensacola, Mrs. Catherine Berry of Birmingham, Ala, and Mrs. Eula Cowles of of Miami, 2 sons, Andrew M. Scherffius, Jr., of Orange Tex, and Robert Scherffius of the Merchant Marine; 3 sisters, Mrs. Barbara Baehr, Mrs. Nellie Landers and Mrs. Sarah Cole, all of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Fisher-Pou Chapel with the Rev. Charles Hildreth officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Bonifay, Robert Brockett, Jr., Anthony P. Gomez, William F. Early, Glenn H. Thomas and Henry Whitwell.
Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
