FORT MILL - Michael Allen Nicoll, 72, died on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. Mike went home to be with his savior, Jesus Christ, whom he loved dearly.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Bible Baptist Church, 255 Highway 21 Bypass in Fort Mill, S.C., with Dr. James Parrish and Dr. Marshall Fant officiating. A visitation will be prior to service from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Crown Memorial Park, 9620 Rodney St., Pineville, NC 28134.
Mr. Nicoll was born February 11, 1939, in Detroit, Mich., a son of the late Ernest and Mary (Martin) Nicoll.
Michael enjoyed family time, boating, was a master craftsman in woodworking, taught Sunday School men's Bible Study, enjoyed old military history and loved all his animals. A veteran of the U.S. Army, He was employed with General Motors Corp. for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gloria (Guzy) Nicoll of Fort Mill, S.C.; two sons, Michael A. Nicoll Jr. and Matthew P. Nicoll, both of Fort Mill and one daughter, Maribeth (Nicoll) Jordan of Tega Cay; two brothers, Harry Nicoll of Detriot, Mich., and Charles Nicoll of Gulf Shores, Ala. Mike is also survived by eight grandchildren, Lauren, Alexis, Austin, Kristina, Jesse, Georgianna, Liam and Beau.
Mr. Nicoll was preceded in death by Jean Nicoll, Sonny Nicoll, Jack Nicoll and Barbara Nicoll.
