-- Lela Mae Hackler Mrs. Hackler passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the age of 78. Lela was born on September 8, 1930 in Amherst, Texas, the seventh of eleven children born to Henry and Mary Miller. Lela grew up in Olton, Texas, where she met and married her husband of 60 years, Curtis Eugene Hackler. They moved to Colorado where they lived for 41 years. In 1995 they moved to Charlotte, NC, to be close to their daughter, Gayle Clark, her husband Bill and grandson Jody. She is survived by Gayle and Bill of Charlotte, NC, daughter Kathy Doherty, her husband Paul, grandchildren Heather and Bretta from Cheshire, Connecticut. Lela was preceded in death by her grandson, Jody William Clark. Lela loved her flower gardens, her dolls and her family. She will be remembered by her impish smile and her kind and loving nature. It was a true blessing to have her in our lives and she will be greatly missed by those who had the great fortune to be part of her life. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Crown Memorial Park, Pineville, NC. McEwen Pineville Chapel is serving the Hackler family.
