-- CHESTER -- The funeral for Mr. Grady Clyde Board of 107 Nichols St. was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Barron Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Funderburk officiated and burial followed in Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Board, 71, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at his residence.

A native of Reidsville, N.C., he was a son of the late James Eli and Mary Singletary Board. A retired shift supervisor from Springs Industries, Mr. Board also formerly worked part time at Winn Dixie. He attended school in Chester County and went to Saluda Street Church of God. Mr. Board was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Montene C. Board; a stepson, Lee Carter and his wife, Cheryl, of Blackstock; a granddaughter, Elizabeth McDonald of Blackstock; a great-grandson, Seth Suter of Blackstock; a brother, Chester Board of Chester; and a sister, Dorothy Fortner of Chester.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 179 Columbia St., Chester.

Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, was in charge of arrangements.
