-- CHESTER - Mrs. Lillie Mae Gheen Burrell, 76, passed away Thurs., March 24, 2011, at her home.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Mon., March 28, 2011, at the Saluda St. Church of God, with the Rev. Jimmie Cox and Rev. R. Gerald Funderburk officiating. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sun., March 27, 2011, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC.
Mrs. Burrell was born December 21 1934, and was a daughter of the late Charlie Franklin Gheen and Lillie Mabel Byars Gheen. She attended the schools of Chester County and retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of Saluda St. Church of God.
She is survived by one son, Franklin Gentry Burrell, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Chester; two daughters, Sheila Burrell McAbee and her husband, Mike of Chester and LaWayne Burrell Tackitt and her husband, Glenn of San Antonio, Tx.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred G. Woodle and Hazel G. Cato, both of Chester. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Johnny, Fred and Hubert Gheen and two sisters, Sadie G. Foutz and Betty Faye G. Fowler.
