Mr. Robert Dean Barnhill, 56, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at his home.

The graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Spratt Building, 215 Main Street, Fort Mill.

Born in Charlotte, Robert was a son of James Dean Barnhill and the late Lois Wilson Cox Barnhill. After many years with the Rock Hill Police Department, rising from private to detective, he founded CaseTech Investigative Agency. Robert loved tinkering with cars and could rebuild any type of engine. He enjoyed NASCAR, the outdoors, 4-wheeling and camping; but mostly, his family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Tara Aleta Decker of Johnson City, Tenn. and Jan Katherine Barnhill of Kingsport, Tenn.; his father, J. Dean Barnhill; his sister, Jennie Barnhill-Urick of Fort Mill; and two brothers, David Barnhill of York and Scott Barnhill of Bluffton.
