-- ROCK HILL Lyle Teddy "Ted" Powell, 51, passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at home.

Ted was a graduate of Rock Hill High School in 1979. He was a member of the Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene. He worked for the York County Natural Gas Authority for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Rogers Powell; daughter, Lauren Marie Powell Evans and her husband, Kelly; two granddaughters, Halle Jo and Autumn Greysen Evans of Rock Hill; brother, Buck L. Powell of York, S.C.; and two sisters, Joan Miles and Kimberly Gleaves, both of Rock Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon W. Powell and Ressie Mae Certain Powell.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral services at the church. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill.
