During the couple of months my husband was working there, he became friendly with the social one (Uno) who performed entertaining antics for handouts. The other one (Dos) was timid and wouldn't come close enough to interact. Towards the end of the job, my husband was told the dogs would be taken to the on-site animal control facility when the work was finished. My husband was pretty attached to Uno and though he knew I didn't want another dog, he knew they would be euthanized and made a good case for rescue. At that time we already had a good-sized, ventilated plastic dog kennel so transporting wouldn't be an issue; but I had one stipulation... There'd better be two dogs in it when he brought it back. I guess he had one devil of a time catching the shy one (Dos) but the kennel arrived with two new members of the family.
My husband did a good part of the care for them, too. He took them to the Vet for shots and neutering and usually accompanied me for most things related to them if he was available. Kudos to him.
