He lived in Henry all of his life and was a welder at BF Goodrich for many years, retiring in 1986. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunner on a PBY Plane. He was a member of the Henry Presbyterian Church, Henry American Legion Post 323 and Henry Masonic Lodge AF and AM 119.
Also surviving are one daughter, Donna (Larry) Klein of Henry;
three sons, Ron (Sandy) Miles and Dave (Betty Ann) Miles, both of Henry, and Rich (Connie) Miles of Lake Thunderbird;
10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Henry Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, Henry, with the Rev. Dr. Norman Smith of the Henry Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery, with members of the Henry American Legion providing full military rites.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, and one hour before the services Monday in the funeral home.
