Don was born Dec. 24, 1927, in rural Magnolia, Ill., to Henry and Amelia (Ziegler) Noder. He married Shirley Moline on Nov. 26, 1949, in Henry, Ill. She preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 1995.
Surviving are his two sons, David Noder of McNabb and Matthew (Marla) Noder, of Lake Wildwood, Varna; one daughter, Julie (Kris) Burt, of Norwalk, Ohio; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His parents and one brother, Edwin Noder, preceded him in death.
Don graduated from Henry High School, where he played basketball.
He had served his country in the United States Marines.
Don was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Henry American Legion.
Don was a dedicated member of the Henry Fire Department, serving for over 50 years. He was employed at Dewy Grain Co. and BF Goodrich in Henry for over 31 years. For many years, Don operated his own lawn care business.
Don will be remembered for his hard work, willingness to help others and his work ethic in his lawn business. Don was named the Number 1 Henry-Senachwine Mallards sports fan. He was always in the stands cheering on the Mallards. He was a fan of all sports.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Downtown Chapel, 416 Edward St., Henry. A memorial Mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Henry. Fr. Tom Mizeur will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Henry, where full military rites will be accorded by the Henry American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the Henry Fire Department.
