Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be Wednesday April 11, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church of the St. John XXIII, parish, Henry. Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am Fr. John Bosco Mujuni, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Henry where full military rites will be accorded by the Henry American Legion. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Lloyd was born October 9, 1934 at the Henry Hospital, Henry, IL to Edward and Hazel (Merdian) Russell. He married Mary Mattingly on January 26, 1957 at Immaculate Conception Church, Lacon, Illinois. She survives in Henry.
Also surviving are his sons, William L. Russell, of Henry and Robert E. (Jeanine) Russell, of Lake Wildwood, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one sister, Susan (Rick) Fansler, of Henry.
His parents and a daughter-in-law, Diane Russell, preceded him in death.
Lloyd graduated from Sparland High School. He serviced his country in the United States Army during the Korean era. He served for 18 months on Okinawa. Lloyd had worked for B.F. Goodrich, later named Poly One, from 1965 till his retirement in 1993. Prior to that he had farmed in the Henry and Whitefield areas. He was a member of the NRA and the Henry American Legion.
