Donald Raymond Grantham was born in Key West Florida in 1943 to Myrtle Armstrong Grantham and was raised by her and her husband Louis Grantham. He told me that Louis was not his biological father, a man named Raymond Fernandez from Cuba was his real father but had no knowledge of him.
He married a woman named Mary in 1960 and they had two children, a son and a daughter. They divorced in 1962.
He served briefly in the military but was discharged in 1962.
In 1965,he married my mother Katie Marie Pierce in Troy, AL. They had one child, a daughter, me, Donna Kaye. They divorced in 1970. Katie was killed in a car accident in 1971 and I was raised by her parents Jerry & Mamie Pierce.
Don went on to marry a woman named Bonnie around 1975 and they had one son together who was adopted by his cousin. Bonnie died from cancer a few years later. In 1988, he married his fourth wife Linda Wilson, they divorced in 1999, a couple of months before she died.
Donald Ray took his own life on April 22, 2001 at his home in Clayton, AL.
