Orr, Jack SAN DIEGO / LA MESA -- Jack passed away peacefully in his sleep at his La Mesa home Sunday, March 2, 2014. He was born June 19, 1927 in Nebraska. He moved to California with his parents as a baby. Jack is survived by his wife of 17 years, Wanda, his sons, Brian and Brad; step- son and daughter Daryl and Teri. Jack attended Grossmont High School where he played football as a quarterback and met his wife, Lorraine. They were married 48 years until she passed. He opened Jack Orr's Auto Body in 1950. Jack loved driving and fixing cars. He was fastidious about quality. His Custom 1941 green Willys pickup is well known in La Mesa. He enjoyed golf and parties with family and friends. A lifelong Charger fan. Jack served as president of both Allied Gardens Little League and Alvarado Pop Warner Football. He was one of the founders of the California Auto Body Association and served as president. Jack leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
