Lyndel P. Johnson Services Planned

The owner of a downtown auto body shop suffered a heart attack Saturday after
registering a perfect score in a trap shooting contest and died in a Compton
hospital. Services for Lyndel Payne (Red) Johnson, 49, will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in Bonham Brothers Mortuary and at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow in the Chapel of Roses at Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Internment will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
Johnson, who lived at 677 Cedar Ave., Chula Vista, was a native of Illinois and lived in the county 14 years. He was the owner of the Alden-Farris Auto Collision Repair Shop, 860 Columbia St. He was a member of the Convair Gun Club; Independent Garage Owners of California; San Diego Downtown Association; Chamber of Commerce; YMCA; The Better Business Bureau of San Diego; and the First Methodist Church of Chula Vista.
Johnson is survived by his widow, Ada; a son, Jeffrey; a daughter, Maida; his mother, Mrs Cecile Johnson of Chula Vista; a brother; and three sisters, including Mrs. June Kendall and Mrs Wilma Lash, both of San Diego.
