MARIA ISABEL BENITEZ

Daddy please don't look so sad,
momma please don't cry.
Cause I'm in the arms of Jesus,
and he sings me lullabies.

My grand niece, my brother Robert's granddaughter.

Maria was a precious little girl, beautiful and intelligent. She loved playing games on the family computer. She had big dark eyes and dark curly hair.

She took ill suddenly, her family thought she had a cold. She was taken to the emergency room at a nearby hospital and was told Maria had a virus, was sent home and told to give her acetaminophen. She didn't improve and was taken to her doctor, he had her taken to the hospital (a different hospital)and transferred to Childrens Hospital in Madera. By then it was to late to help Maria, she passes away at Childrens Hospital in Madera, after having suffered a brain aneurysm.

The whole family was in shock, how could something like this happen to a small child, we found it so hard to believe, to accept.

My brother Robert Ybarra's beloved granddaughter, he was so heartbroken when she died, now he has joined little Maria in Heaven. His nickname for her was Betty Boop, because of her dark curly hair and beautiful large eyes.

It's Hard

It's hard to know just what to say,
When one so young is taken away.
Far too soon she had to part,
Her memory forever engraved in our heart.

We only knew her for a short while,
But the life she led made us smile.
She was so beautiful and oh so rare,
Life as they say just isn't fair.

Those gone before her will watch her with care,
Till the day comes when we'll all join her there.

Know Maria is watching from heaven above,
And with each ray of sunshine, she's sending her love.
