Stabbing victim, identified as Julian Kelly, 17, of Yuma, was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Norred said Ramon Estrada Jr., 31, of Yuma, was identified as the main suspect.

Julian R. Kelly, 17, was abruptly taken from his family and friends on Monday July 6, 2010. He was born August 14, 1992 to Valerie Jose and Rodrick I. Kelly in Yuma, Arizona.

Julian was known to cherish those closest to him. He was most proud of being a father to his one year old son Julian Jr. He loved spending time with his buddies and closest family friends.

Julian was a junior at La Solana High School in Winterhaven, California. He will best be remembered for his smile and sense of humor. He loved to build, taking on the goal of one day becoming an engineer. Julian was most recently excited and proud of his achievement of obtaining certification from the schools parenting program, paving the way to be an eligible candidate for acceptance into well known universities.

Julian is survived by his son, Julian Rodrick Kelly; mother, Valerie Jose; sisters, Ivanna Kelly and Phelina Roosevelt; grandmother, Pearl Escalanti and grandfather, Gilbert Kelly; aunts, Marla Jose, Rosie Chaipos, Donna Herrera, Rosalinda Dewey and Marilyn Dewey; great aunts, Carole Curran, Frances Aguilar, Sharon Hill, Debra Hill, Shirley Kelly; uncles, Stanley Barley, Rodrick Johnson and Marlow Jose Jr.; great uncle, Victor Curran; nieces, Xipharah Kelly, Michalina, Cyla, Devera; nephews, Anselum and Phelino Roosevelt.

Julian was preceded in death by his father, Rodrick I. Kelly; brother, Valarian Kelly; sister, Matena Kelly; grandmother, Shirley Escalanti; grandfather, Marlow Jose Sr., and uncle, Gerald Dewey.

Visitation will be held at Yuma Mortuary on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ceremonial rites will immediately follow at the Quechan Indian Reservation Big House. Cremation will be Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 5:00 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Augustine Herrera, William Murrietta, Wayne Chaipos Jr., Andrew Leal, Gerardo Valencia, Joseph Laurenzauna, Paul Hopkins, Charles Jose, Manuel Florez, Manuel Ayon, and Stanley Barley.

Honorary Pallbearers are Erwin Escalanti, Colin Taylor, Joseph E.
