Frank A. Woythal had a way with plants. Each year, he tended three vegetable gardens, grew many flowers and always had red flower borders
in front of his house.
"My father was very particular about his gardens," his daughter, Rosalie Coon, said today.
Mr Woythal died Tuesday at his home after a long illness with cancer. He was 87.
A mass in memory of Mr. Woythal was celebrated this morning at St Ann's Church Burial was in St Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
There were no calling hours.
Mr Woythal retired in 1970 after 41 years as a machine operator with Precision Die Casting of Fayetteville.
Mr. Woythal was born in Syracuse, the son of Alexander and Anastasia Woylhal, who had emigrated from Poland. He grew up on the West Side.
He and his wife visited Poland and Europe three times. They maintained close ties with relatives, sending packages frequently,...
Mr. Woythal was a communicant of St. Ann's Church, Taunton.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Henrietta Kotlarz, three sons, Francis M. of Wellsville and Edward M. and David J., both of Camillus, a daughter, Rosalie Coon of Camillus, eight grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
