Ryan N. Kurgan, 20, a former resident of Lake Bluff, Illinois, passed away suddenly Monday, August 13, 2001 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born February 7, 1981 in Hoffman Estates and was a 1999 graduate of Lake Forest High School.
Ryan participated on the high school cross country track team and was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville.
Surviving are his mother, Stella (Charles) George of Lake Bluff and his father William Kurgan of Phoenix, AZ.; 3 brothers, Peter (Patricia) Pena, Jr., and Daniel (Janey) Pena, both of Schaumburg and Michael George of Lake Bluff; his sister, Lisa Marie George of Garrettsville, Ohio; his grandparents, Jesus and Elida Palacios of McAllen, TX., and Mavis Mattioda of Streamwood, IL.; Godparents Ken and Shirley Kurgan of Schaumburg, his niece Kourtney Pena and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2001 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Avenue (Rte. 176) Libertyville and services will continue to St. Joseph Church for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Libertyville.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
