Mrs. Carrie Spencer Myers, 78, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007. She was born Oct. 3, 1928, to Isaac Greely Spencer and Maggie M. Spencer. Mrs. Myers was a member of Jonestown Baptist Church. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 36 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roy and Fred Spencer; and three sisters, Grace Myers, Pearl Dukes and Orba Blevins. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ernest L. Myers of the home; a daughter, Marcia Holder, and her husband, Randy, of Lewisville; two sons, Ernest L. Myers of the home and Larry I. Myers and his wife, Kathryn, of Mocksville; two grandchildren, Kari Nichole Holder and Cody I. Myers; a sister, Ann Brown of Ashe County; and three brothers, Carl Spencer and his wife, Sylvia; Clarence Spencer and his wife, Lovella, of Ashe County; and Joe Spencer of California. A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel, with the Rev. Gaston Short officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church Ministries.
