Larry Dean Blackwell Sr., 67 of Edneyville, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Elizabeth House following a short illness.
Having lived most of his life in Henderson County, he was the son of the late Katie Phillips. Larry is also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Chumley. He was of the Baptist faith, and dearly enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly Jeanne Freeman Blackwell; four children, Tina Blackwell Matthews and her husband Jody, Tracy Blackwell Hill and her husband Bobby, Larry Dean Blackwell, Jr. and his wife Renita all of Fruitland, and Joshua Freeman Blackwell and his wife Amanda of Edneyville; a step-father, Lewis Phillips of Pea Ridge; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Smith and her husband Tom of Pea Ridge; a brother Jeffrey Phillips and his wife Susie of TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at St. Paul Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at In Jesus Name Church on Saturday, November 22, 2014.
