Mark S. Zacek, 46, of Little Falls, passed away in Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo with his family at his side.
Mark was a son of Barbara (Crossett) Brooks of Middleville and the late Stanley Zacek. He graduated from West Canada Valley Central School in 1986 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 to 1991. On Aug. 28, 1999, Mark was united in marriage with the former Mary A. Stallman at St. John's Church, Newport, NY. He was employed as a Correction Officer at Mid-state Correctional facility for the past 17 years.
In Dolgeville, Mark was active with youth sports having organized the Youth Basketball League and currently serving as President of the Little League. He also coached Pop Warner Football and was a Cub scout Leader with Pack 18. Mark enjoyed playing softball with the Ilion Wooden Bat League and was a member of the New Hartford Post #1376 American Legion.
He was predeceased by his father, Stanley, and his step-father, Richard Brooks.
Interment will be in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, where military honors with be conferred by the U.S. Navy.
