Kevin B. Hinderling, 43, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kevin was born in Bridgeton, NJ on March 12, 1969, the son of W. Thomas and Loreley (Blanco) Hinderling. He was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1987 and later received his bachelor's degree from SUNY Buffalo. Kevin served his country with the US Marines during the Persian Gulf War. On July 20, 1996, Kevin married Karen Cianfrocco at the Clinton Methodist Church. He was employed as a corrections officer with Midstate Correctional Facility. Kevin enjoyed many activities and interests, a few being, he played Bocce, Poker and Pitch at the Toccolana Club in Rome. He also played racquetball and golf. He was a sports enthusiast, and a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His favorite sports though were the games his sons played, including soccer, lacrosse, and hockey, of which he sometimes served as the announcer. Kevin was also involved with fantasy football leagues with his friends as well as fantasy baseball with his friends at corrections. He loved spending time with his family, especially vacationing and camping. Kevin was a member of the Clinton Methodist Church.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Hinderling, Clinton; his 3 cherished sons, Connor, Carter, and Caden Hinderling; his parents, W. Thomas and Loreley Hinderling, Florida; his sister, Andrea Hinderling, New York City; his grandfather, Francisco Blanco, Florida; his parents-in-law, Dominick and Janet Cianfrocco, Rome; a sister-in-law and her husband, Michelle and Jeremy Haggas, and their children, Samantha and Griffin, Marcy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as by many dear friends.

Kevin's funeral will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 10:00 am at the Clinton Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton on Friday evening from 4 – 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to the Hinderling Education Fund, c/o M. Griffith Investment Services, attn: Scott George, PO Box 895, New Hartford, NY 13413.

The family offers their thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Sikder, the nurses and staff for the care and kindness shown to Kevin and his family while in their care.
