Died at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 1914, at the family residence, 2327 South Tenth street, Cicero C. Bruce, aged 74 years. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the residence. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
Decedent is survived by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Bruce; five daughters, Miss Olive Bruce, Mrs. John Bailey, Mrs. C. W. Roth, Mrs. John Nicholson, Mrs. A. B. Oliver, and Mrs. F. C. Lewin; two sons, J. M. Bruce, San Antonio, and W. L. Bruce, West Grand Place.
Decedent celebrated his golden wedding three years ago. He was born in Tennessee. Was a member of the Laurel M. E. church. He enlisted in company D, Tennessee cavalry, under Col. Joe Wheeler and served through the Civil war. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL 3-22-1914
