Too Hearty Meal Cause of Death? Retiring for the night, after eating a dozen fried eggs, a loaf of bread and a goodly quantity of ham, it is thought it proved disastrous to William Bell, who was found dead in bed about 8 o'clock yesterday morning at his rooming house, 738 1/2 East Washington street. The coroner's jury was unable to agree on the cause of death and as a result the verdict read: "William Bell came to his death from natural causes unknown to the jury." A box containing a quantity of morphine was found under the pillow of the old man. He was aged about 70 years and it was stated was a veteran of the Civil war. Not much is known of Bell, as he had been in this city for only about two weeks. He stated he was formerly of the south.
