Died, at the family residence in Quincy, Ill., at 1 o'clock a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, 1904, of a complication of ailments, John D. Brantner, formerly of this city, aged 68 years. Mr. Brantner was born in Ohio and at the close of the war in 1865 came to this city where he followed the occupation of a carpenter for many years. He was well known in this city and was highly esteemed by his many friends.
He is survived by one son and three daughters, Edward Brantner of this city, Mrs. Charles Johnson of this city, Mrs. Harry Williams of Peoria, and Mrs. Julius Von Tilzer of New York, and by one sister, Mrs. Carl Rauth of this city. He was a member of the Carpenters' union of this city.
The remains arrived in this city yesterday over the Wabash and were taken to the residence of his sister, Mrs. Carl Rauth, 506 North Sixth street, from where the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon. The interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery, where the services will be in charge of the G. A. R.
