Ward Bartram, 88, Former Rolling Mills Chief, Hurt When Hit By Truck, Dies - Ward Bartram, 88, Civil war veteran and for many years superintendent of the rolling mills, died at 5:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon at ST. John's hospital from injuries received in an accident New Year's day, when he was struck by a truck.
Mr. Bartram is survived by his wife, Sarah Bartram, 87 years old. The couple have been married for 59 years and resided at 537 North Grand avenue, west.
The accident causing the injuries which resulted in his death occurred near his home. He was struck by a truck belonging to the North Side greenhouse.
Mr. Bartram was born April 3, 1836, at Waybridge, Vt. Besides his wife he is survived by a nephew, Samuel J. Hanes, and a niece, Sadie E. Anderson, all of Springfield, besides several grand nephews and nieces. He was a member of the Carpenters' union. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 1-3-1925
