~~*~~Anthony emigrated from King's county, Ireland (now Offaly county, Ireland)when he was 14 years old. He came with a family whose head was one John Baker. (John Baker was a minister from the Palatine Becker family from the Southwell Estate, Limerick Cty, Ireland ; he died in Ashgrove 05 Dec 1826 ); They arrived in Ashgrove Charlotte/Washington county, New York Providence/State in 1786.
◦Margaret and Anthony emigrated to Canada just after being married in New York Province (State). They set out from Cambridge, Arlington District, in 1793 with 2 cows, an ox team, and a sleigh on which they piled all of the furniture it would hold. The trip took 6 weeks. They lived in Fredricksburg for 8 years then he bought lot 13, concession 6, Ernestown Township and moved his family there.
Divine Service was held once in 2 weeks in a log schoolhouse, and prayer meeting in private houses. People came on foot for miles guided by glazed trees.

There is a tombstone marker at Switzer's cemetery for Anthony, however the church was not built until 1926 so he could have been buried at the 4th line church.
