Mikey and his family lived down the very busy road from where my family lived when we were kids. He was in my youngest sister's class at school. (This sister admits that she was 'sweet' on Mikey at that time.) Mikey was killed after running into the path of a vehicle in front of his home. I can remember the day that this happened even though I was very young at the time. My grandpa had passed away just five days earlier and I always associate these two events in my head although they were unrelated. I basically knew that some bad/sad stuff was happening around me and I realize now that I really didn't comprehend what was going on.
