SMITH WINSTON-SALEM ~ Charles E. Smith Nov. 25, 1948 ~ Aug. 15, 2011 Mr. Charles E. Smith was born November 25, 1948 in Darlington County, SC to Eva Mae Reaves and the late Ernest Abraham. He departed this life August 15, 2011. He attended Atkins High School, was a member of Second New Bethel Baptist Church and a retiree of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife, Seresa McCray Smith; daughters, Linda Smith, Monica Smith, Missy (Thaddeus) Martin, and Charesa Smith; sons, Charles (Phyllis) Smith, Jr. and Christopher Smith; his mother, Eva Mae Reaves; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Monroe Reaves, Willie (Robin) Reaves, Bobby Taylor, and Leverne (Jacqueline) Smith; sister, Earnette Abraham Cannon; aunts, Betty (Ronald) Warren and Bessie Smith; mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Charles; sisters-in-law, Lillie Patterson, Vickie (AJ) Wilkin, Rosa McCray, and Elizabeth (James) Roger; brothers-in-law, Dr. Eugene McCray, CSM Russell McCray, Leaunte Charles, William Charles, and Yancey McCray; first cousins that Charles was raised with and he acknowledged as his brothers and sisters, Melvin Joint, Patricia Mills, Willie (Gloria) Smith, Emma (Kenneth) Jordan, Nancy (Willie) Tedder, Randy Smith, Amelia Smith, and Sadie (Michael) Kinley; dedicated and devoted caregivers, Jeff and Sally Morris; devoted neighbors and friends, Keauna Ford, Nellie and Roslyn Joyner; and a host of other dedicated and devoted cousins who will cherish his memories. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Frank Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday at the Church.
