Mr. Eddie Lee Mitchell, 74, passed away November 11, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born February 6, 1938 to Robert Gideon Mitchell and Flossie Mae Speaks Mitchell in Stokes County, NC. After working 30+ years, Mr. Mitchell retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company where he held the position of Chief Mechanic. He was a sharp shooter in the US Army. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Mitchell delighted in athletic pursuits and enjoyed his membership at Wilshire Golf Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Uland Mitchell. Survivors include his two daughters, Alesia Boles (Darren), and Sonya Mitchell; grandchildren, Mitchell Boles, Daniel Duffy, and Hailey Duffy, as well as his little cat, Muffin. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday between 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to American Lung Assn., 514 Daniels St., #109 Raleigh, NC 27605.
