Mr. Durham retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after forty years of service. He is a graduate from Atkins High School where he played multiple sports. Mr. Durham was an avid golfer and a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Ruth and Nathaniel Durham; his brother, Roosevelt Durham; and his sister, Mary Durham.
Mr. Durham leaves to cherish dear memories his lovely and devoted wife of thirteen years, Martha Durham; seven children, Paulette (Pete), Paul Jr. (Michelle), Sharon, Letitia (Eric), Tevin, William and Jackie (Ken); mother-in-law, Margretta Key of Winston-Salem, NC; four sisters, Ruby, Annie Mae, Verdie Mae, Kay Frances and one brother, Donald of the city; and a host of in-laws, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend James Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from12noon until 1pm on Thursday at the Church.
The family extends thanks to the staff of the Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation Center and his private physician Dr. Dilly.
