She was the daughter of the late Corinne Phillips & Rayvon J. Phillips. She graduated from Paisley High School and The Business Institute and had worked many years for the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
She was also a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday school financial secretary, data-entry clerk, and a member of the Effort Club.
Survivors include her sisters, Andrea Gardner, Harriet Thomas, Sandra Walker (Kenneth), and Linda Davis (Charlie); several nieces and nephews.
Interment followed funeral services conducted at the New Bethel Baptist Church, Saturday, November 17, 2007; Rev. Dr. Kendall Jones, Sr. presided. The Gilmore Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
