Mr. Douglas Ray McKinney, 63, of Westfield passed away Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 15, 1943, in Stokes County to the late Eugene Roscoe and Mamie Mozelle Dunivant McKinney. Mr. McKinney was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. McKinney is survived by his loving wife, Brenda McKinney of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Zane and Anessa McKinney of Walnut Cove and Chad and Ellen McKinney of Westfield; Poppy's two special granddaughters, Madelyn and Ella McKinney; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and William White of Germanton and Jettie and Carl Frye of Westfield; and a brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Nancy McKinney of King. Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Iris June, Marie and twin sister Alice Faye; and three brothers, Baxter, Rex and Tom. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Yates Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The McKinney family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 3, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in floral tributes, or to Hospice of Stokes, P.O. Box 10, Danbury, NC 27106, or Stoney Ridge Church Cemetery Fund, 1030 Stoney Ridge Road, Westfield, NC 27053. The McKinney family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain.
