Clara Belle Fowler Lewis King, age 83, of Longwood Lane, passed away Monday, October 18, 2004 at Kingston Nursing Center following a long battle with Alzheimers. Mrs. King was born June 3, 1921, in Loris, a daughter of the late William Henry and Ellen E. Fowler. She was of the Baptist Faith and prior to retiremwnt she was employed by A.V.X. She was predeceased by her first husband James W "Jim" Lewis and her second husband Thurman J. King; one daughter Mary Grace Proctor; four brothers, Ben Fowler, Henry Fowler, Claude Fowler, Nedham Fowler and two sisters, Lettie Lee and Dora Cox all of Loris. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Special thanks are extended to the staff and management of Kingston Nursing Center for their endless compassionate care. Surviving are four sons, Jimmy Lewis, Lamar Lewis, Joe King and Keith King all of Conway; one daughter Helen Holley of Conway; one sister, Bessie Stanley of Jacksonville, FL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday from Hillcrest Mausoleum Chapel directed by Rev. John Renfro. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge.
