Mr. R. E. Callaway died at his home on South Jefferson street Monday night, a few minutes after seven o'clock, after an illness of a few days with pneumonia. Mr. Callaway is survived by Mrs. Callaway and six children. At the time of his death Mr. Callaway was employed as night watchman at the plant of the Oconee Brick and Tile Co. He rendered faithful service and was known as a quiet and peaceful citizen. For a number of years he was an employee of the State Sanitarium. He has a number of friends who regret his death. Arrangements for the funeral services have not been completed, but will take place Thursday. (Union Recorder)
