Born Oct. 27, 1917, in Held, Marshall County, to Fred and Belle Randall Elgin, she married Jack A. "Jake" Davis on June 3, 1935. He died May 6, 1960.
She also was preceded in death by one son, John Davis on March 14, 1997; two sisters; one stepbrother; and one stepsister.
She later married Rueben Lester on July 29, 1967, in Henry. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gene Davis and Alden (and Marilyn) Davis, both of Spring Valley; five daughters, Yvonne (and Virgil) Bennett and Grace (and Bobby) Kite, both of South Pekin, Alice (and Richard) Lincke of Portland, Ore., Betty (and William) Degelman of Brimfield and Trudy (and William) Roffey of Anamosa, Iowa; two stepsons, Jim (and Bonnie) Lester of Hennepin and Jerry (and Barbara) Lester of Mark; one stepdaughter, Joanne (and James) Hardmeier of Lacon; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two stepsisters, Mary Richmond of Glasford and Bess Borcherding of Peoria.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Granville.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
