Buddy Lee Smith, 62, of Lavaca died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, in a local hospital. He was born March 7, 1940, in Panama. He was a retired employee of Rheem Manufacturing and of the Southern Baptist faith. Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca with burial at Mayberry Cemetery in Central City. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Steele-Smith of the home; a daughter, Jeanna Roberts of Pocola; a son, Michael Smith of Jefferson City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Cindy White of Lavaca; a stepson, Daniel Steele of Bentonville; three grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy and B.J. Brewer, Daniel Steele, Tyler and Paul White and Nick Lively. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Goff and Robert Taylor.
