Our beloved baby son, Jason Clark Nielsen, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, October 17, 2008. He was born April 6, 2008 to Lanea Dangerfield and Cameron Nielsen. Grandparents are Valorie (Walker) and Keith Dangerfield, Tamara (Brown) and Alan Nielsen. He has one brother, Nathan Nielsen, who also survives him.
He was a sweet spirit sent to us by Heavenly Father for a short time. His courage and his fighting spirit touched us all. We will miss him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sego Lily LDS Ward Chapel, 900 North 700 East, Lehi, Utah. It's been nearly two years since 6-week-old Jason Nielsen was hospitalized after what police call multiple episodes of violent abuse. His father, Cameron Nielsen, was arrested in June of 2008, a few weeks after Jason was hospitalized.
Jason Nielsen suffered head trauma, broken bones and a laceration to his liver before he was brought to Primary Children's Medical Center on May 11, 2008. The boy died five months later in foster care.
