That Abraham served in the Canadian militia is attested by the following: "I do hereby certify that Abraham Beach served in my Company in the incorporated Militia as a private for about twelve months and done his duty fathfully and then was attached to the Grenadier Company under Captain Archibald McCleane, and shortly afterwards was dismissed on account of his bad health." (Signed) A Drayton, L 1st RLM, Elizabethtown, Sept 8, 1836
Note: Tombstone inscription: "Abram Beach died June 8, 1864, age 70 years
