Andrew is the 2nd oldest child of Lyman Beach and Elizabeth Mills.

During the school years, he lived with his Aunt and Uncle, Gideon and Margaret (Mills) Huntington, who were childless.

He married Clara Argyle on 05 NOV 1878. Together, they had 8 children.

Succombs to Apoplexy; Was Former Hardware Dealer
Andrew James Beach, formerly a Fourth Street hardware dealer, succumbed to apoplexy late yesterday afternoon at his home, 1332 Jennings street. Mr. Beach was stricken Monday afternoon. He was 67 years old.
Mr. Beach was born in Kentville, Ont. He was married to Clara Argyle in 1874, and two years later moved to Alton, Io., where he entered the hardware business. In 1887 he came to Sioux City and as the head of the firm of Beach & Weid opened a hardware store at 508 Fourth street. The firm continued in business until the fire of 1904, when Mr. Beach retired.
He is survived by his widow, four sons, Andrew, Albert, Roger and Lawrence, and one daughter, Clara, all of Sioux City, and three brothers, A. B. Beach, of Chicago, Ill.; A. L. Beach, of Sioux City, and I. W. Beach, of Sheldon, Io.
The funeral services will be held at the residence at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. E. H. Gaynor, pastor of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park cemetery.
